Head designer Demna Gvasalia, a Martin Margiela and Louis Vuitton alum (he worked under both Marc Jacobs and Nicolas Ghesquière), Vetements isn’t about creating a brand-new concept or theory each season. “My friends and I were sick of working in a system that was kind of derailing itself—designers trying to reinvent the brand and come up with new concepts every six months—and we wanted a creative outlet,” said Gvasalia via phone from Paris.
