To ring in the New Year, the Clever Alice Team wants everyone to feel and look their best. In the New Year at Clever Alice, we are putting an emphasis on self-care. Self-care to us is defined as dressing in what makes you feel confident, taking the time to take care of your body, including skincare, the food you eat, and overall physical and mental health. Feeling good in your skin is part of feeling confident in the clothes you put onto your body.
At Clever Alice, we are excited to bring our clients a wonderful collaboration with esthetician Carly Horvath on January 24, 2024. At Clever Alice, we are hosting a skincare, sip and shop event to bring our vision of self-care and fashion alive.
In today's fast-paced world, self-care and fashion are two aspects that have gained tremendous importance in our lives. But did you know that self-care and fashion are closely intertwined? Skincare is a vital component of self-care, and it plays a significant role in enhancing our overall well-being and confidence. In this blog post, we'll explore how self-care and fashion coexist in the fashion world and why skincare is essential for everyone. We'll also hear from a skincare expert who shares her journey and insights.

"I’ve been working in skincare for four years. I started my skincare career in Sydney, Australia, and have worked in Sag Harbor, Montauk, and Manhattan."
When did you start doing skincare for others and make a business for yourself?
"I have always struggled with my skin, particularly with hormonal acne. I feel like I tried everything, and nothing was helping. When I moved to Australia, I wanted to use that time to heal my body and discover a career that I was passionate about. All of my friends know I've always been obsessed with skincare and take way too long in the bathroom doing my routine, haha. It finally hit me that I can actually do this as a career, and when I made that connection, the doors started to open up."
Skincare and Self-Care:
Having hormonal acne taught our skincare expert a lot about her body, including the importance of self-care. "I am completely passionate about helping other people find the same in the way that works best for them and the stage of life that they are in." Self-care is about more than just looking good on the outside; it sends a message to your entire being that you are valuable and worthy of nourishment.
The Importance of Skincare for Everyone:
"Skincare is important for everyone, both men and women because the skin is our largest organ. It is the organ that we can see and monitor. When something is off with our skin, a lot of times that means there's something else going on inside that needs our attention. Whether that's our gut health, our liver, dehydration, or emotional blockages, our skin will show us, and it's our job to pay attention and respond with care."
Skincare and Fashion: A Perfect Pairing
"I believe fashion and skincare go hand-in-hand because when you put on your favorite outfit but your skin isn't feeling its best, it's hard to not let that bring you down. But when you take care of your skin, it just elevates every other aspect of how you present yourself to the world. A radiant complexion paired with an incredible outfit is literally a recipe for having the best day. When we feel good about how we look and go out into the world, we attract better and better experiences. When we feel confident about ourselves, we can make other people feel confident about themselves. It's always a win-win."
Self-Care and Feeling Good About Yourself:
"Self-care goes deeper than just making yourself look better on the outside. Self-care sends a message to your entire being that you are valuable and worthy of nourishment. Sometimes when we don't feel appreciated by others, it's our sign to take control and start appreciating ourselves and what our body is doing every day to keep us moving forward. When we are busy with friends, family, and work, we can end up putting ourselves last. Sometimes that's the way it has to be, but we always have to bring ourselves back into the equation and remind our body that we care and we are listening and paying attention."
Three Tips for the Best Skin Ever:
-
Ditch the Makeup Wipes: "Never use make-up wipes; instead, use oil cleansing at night to remove makeup, SPF, and the environmental pollution of the day."
-
Embrace Serums with Epidermal Growth Factors: "Use a serum with epidermal growth factors to repair skin cells and stimulate collagen production."
-
Stay Hydrated: "Always drink water or herbal tea throughout the day. Dehydration will make it look like you have more fine lines than you actually do."
Please stay tuned for more details on our skincare, sip and shop event on January 24th, I hope you all are as excited as we are, as our mission continues to be for all our clients to feel and look their most condident.
